006 Body Butters : Nip & Fab vs Soap & Glory

As Autumn tucks itself up in bed and Winter peeps its head around the corner, I stock up on Body Butters. This time of year really dries out my already dry skin, especially on my arms and legs. I love Body Butters, they really restore the moisture back into my skin and leave me feeling silky soft, definitely a staple on product on my dressing table during winter!

I recently bought 'Butter Yourself' by Soap & Glory and Nip + Fab's Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix. Both are absolute favourite brands of mine, I adore Soap & Glory's beautiful scents and the way their products make you feel so relaxed and really fresh, I'm a total sucker for some pretty packaging too!

Butter Yourself is a fruity body moisturiser, containing orange waterjuice, shea butter, peppermint oil, fruitliquid fig and exfoliating AHA's, I'd never heard of AHA's before so decided to do a little research.

AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acids, these are chemical compounds that occur naturally in fruits, milk and sugar cane. AHA's help to reduce the appearance of skin wrinkling as well as even the tone of the skin, soften and smooth.

I popped some Butter Yourself onto my legs after a hot bath, when my skin is at its driest, the scent wasn't what I expected, it's not quite as sweet as the other Soap & Glory products but nevertheless was a nice relaxing fruity smell which clung to my skin quite a while after I'd put it on. My skin felt immediately moisturised and you can really feel that it works, it wasn't at all sticky and didn't dry out either. It's definitely one of my favourite Soap & Glory products and really helped my exceptionally dry skin!

Nip + Fab products have been a total savior for me, their Tummy Fix is amazing and really really helped me after having my sons. The Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix claims to repair dry and dehydrated skin, I have to say I was a little disappointed in this product, the smell wasn't really nutty as it claims to be and it wasn't a particularly nice smell either, it wasn't really feminine or sweet. Although this body butter does come in other scents; Coconut Latte, Cherry Tarte and Mango Smoothie, I am wishing I'd bought the cherry tarte as I think I would have preferred the smell of it. After rubbing into my legs, it immediately dried out, it did leave my skin feeling super soft but didn't really moisturise like I expected it to.

For me, the Soap & Glory Butter Yourself was a clear winner, it did exactly as I expected it to, smelled really pretty and left my skin feeling absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately I think the Pistachio Sundae just maybe wasn't right for my skin type. I think maybe my skin was a just tad too dry!

What are your favourite dry skin fixes?

005 Style Icon : Millie Mackintosh

Made In Chelsea's ultimate sweetheart, Millie Mackintosh is fast making a name for herself as complete fashion icon, I'm not one for reality tv stars but Millie's amazing fashion sense and totally adorable personality puts her right at the top of my list, she has a straight-out-of-london, chic sense of style and I love how she puts her outfits together, she's fearless and her fashion has no limits, from her bold, biker boots and leather jacket, to her floppy hats and structured dresses, Millie looks amazing. Always perfectly accessorized and sporting her flawless make-up, she knows how to make a statement and never gets it wrong.

I have to say, I'm a tad envious of her array of coats and clutches! I'd definitely love to see the inside of her wardrobe! Millie has just started her own 'Style Diary' on her website, which you can find here. You can see all of her latest looks and where she bought them. Most of which are affordable, high street outfits!

Who's your style crush?!

004 Hersheson & Batiste

Hersheson burst onto the fashion scene in the early nineties, their Conduit Street salon became an instant hit with models & celebrities alike and they gained a huge interest from the press. They revolutionized the future of hair styling with the release of the first straightening irons. Soon after, they opened a luxury hair spa in Harvey Nichols & the Blow Dry Bar in the Oxford Circus branch of Topshop followed.

In 2010, Hersheson transferred their fashion-forward expertise into a range of hair extensions and accessories, available to buy in store and online, from chic sixties beehives, to a Gaga style bow, the choices are endless.

2012 saw Hersheson team up with Batiste to create a limited edition version of their dry shampoo, designed to refresh your locks and give masses of volume and body between washes, its a beautiful update on a best selling classic beauty product.

Batiste has been a staple hair product on my dressing table for a while now, its been an absolute essential hair saviour, so perfect when you need a little freshen up or some extra volume! I love the verstality of it and the range of fragrances, I was really excited to see that Batiste had team with Hersheson, the spray can is silver and polka dotted and looks so adorable amongst all my other hair and beauty products, the scent inside is the original Batiste scent, I was expecting Hersheson to perhaps have launched their own fragrance, I was surprised to find that was it actually Original Batiste as the retailing price is £5.50 as opposed to the regular £3.99, but even after I've used it all up, I think I'll keep the can on my dressing table!

Have you tried the Hersheson Batiste? What does everyone think?

002 January/Febuary Wishlist

We've had a beautiful sprinkling of snow over the gorgeous fields of the Suffolk countryside today! Its bitterly cold and in a bid to curb my online shopping habits whilst I'm tucked up indoors all nice & cosy under my blanket, I've put together a little wishlist of a few things I'm absolutely pining after at the moment!

left to right - Nars Limited Edition Foreplay Palette, £39, available from Nars
Topshop Playsuit, £50, available from Topshop
Topshop Eyelash Lace Vest, £16, available from Topshop
Nars Limited Edition Andy Warhol Edie Set, £54, available from Nars
Lord & Berry This is Love Lip Trio in Pink, £10, available from ASOS
Topshop Lattice Heels, £80, available from Topshop
Topshop Lips in Macaroon, £8, available from Topshop

The Nars Andy Warhol Edie set is something I've had my little eyes set on for a while, I first spotted on the Selfridges website, I am a huge fan of Edie Sedgwick and I think Nars have done an amazing job at depicting her perfectly into this beautiful little set, the shades are absolutely stunning. All of the products are full sized, so while the price seems a little steep, I think you definitely get your moneysworth out of it! Does anyone own this? What do you think of it?

I'd love to hear whats on your wishlists!

001 Whats In My Bag?

A girls handbag is her sanctuary, the one place where all of our little knicknacks and daily deeds are hidden from the world, the contents of our bags can tell you a lot about our characters. I've decided to clear out my crumpled reciepts and stow away the odd bits of spare change and show you whats actually in my bag...

Handbag - My bag is by Marc B, I picked it up in the Oxford Street branch of Topshop last year and it soon became a staple in my wardrobe, I use it pretty much every day, I love the structured shape, masses of space and versatility. Marc B has become one of my favourite brands over the last year.

Notebook - I always carry a notebook with me, everywhere I go, I tend to write everything down and make lots of notes and jot ideas before I forget them, I'm massively creative and feel inspired by everything from places I visit, food I've tried and the world around me, my notebook is full of weird and wonderful ideas that I try and put into practice as much as possible.

Diary - I like to think I'm quite organised and tend to keep my diary on me most of the time, I always like to know where I need to be and when so I can plan ahead!

Book - I'm reading Breakfast At Tiffanys by Truman Capote at the moment, I think it should be a staple on every girls bookshelf! Quite possibly the most romantic book ever written, I love to read when I have time and keep my book on me for any quiet moments that pop up during the day.

Body Spray - I've got some Charlie 'Touch' in my bag at the moment, it was actually a gift, I'm definitely more of a perfume girl but body spray is a given if you need a quick refreshing spritz! I'm a total sucker for anything that smells gorgeous and girly, for someone who isn't a fan of body sprays, this is definitely one of my favourite scents.

Perfume - I love perfume, I love to smell good, the perfume I'm using at the moment is Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, its my all time favourite, completely classy and feminine.

Lip Balms/Gloss - I have two lip balms chucked in the bottom of my bag at the moment, I tend to get bored of flavours and replace them pretty quickly, one of them is a passionfruit one from the Body Shop, it tastes absolutely delicious and has a really pretty sheen to it, perfect for this time of year! The gloss is the one I use the most, its the DuWop Venom Gloss, you can buy it from FeelUnique, its currently on sale, a total steal at £12.80!

Hairspray - I carry Lee Stafford Climate Control around with me all the time, my hair is prone to frizziness at the tiniest drop of rain and it keeps all my flyaways under control and completely weatherproofed.

Keys - I only have one keyring on my keys, a little floral 'H' that I picked up from Accessorize, I have my house keys on there and the key to my Mini, I'm so grateful to be able to drive, I wouldn't be able to cope without my car!

Hand Cream - My skin gets massively dry during the winter, especially on my hands, I love hand creams from the Body Shop, I have the Wild Rose one at the moment but I find the Almond smells a little nicer and is a little more moisturising.

Purse - I bought my purse a couple of weeks ago in the Cath Kidston sale, I was pining after a new one after my Topshop one completely fell apart, I love Cath Kidston products and the purse is definitely no exception, the print is beautiful and theres just enough room for all my cards and coins (although its empty at the moment! - oh dear!).

Umbrella - I have a really bad habit of getting caught up in the rain, I can't bear getting drenched! I've only recently begun to carry my brolly around with me just in case! The weather in England can be so unpredictable at times, its a given!

Whats in your bag..?
